Enroll for the 2016 School Year: A Few Spaces Left at Carkeek, Camp Long, Beacon Hill and Rainier Valley

Thanks to you hundreds of children across Seattle will enjoy a joyful childhood and the opportunity to gain essential academic, social and emotional skills. We’ve had a big response with 145 families enrolled for the upcoming school year! Here’s a run down of what spaces are available and how you can help:

A hidden gem of West Seattle, Camp Long has inspired generations of scientists, climbers and explorers. This unique mix of history and natural splendor lends itself to a vibrant, playful and creative outdoor classroom. Your little scientist will explore magnificent forests full of hidden cedar groves, towering conifers and colorful salal and huckleberries where they will engage with symbols, letters and ideas and conduct their own experiments – testing the logic and possibilities of the natural world. Financial assistance (30% off tuition) still available.

With extraordinary views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains, a pebbly beach full of hidden treasures and an active salmon stream, Carkeek Park is an ideal location for exploration and hands-on learning. Your adventurer will ramble through 220 acres of big mossy trees, get muddy and giggly in the hidden meadows, wetlands & beach, and search for salmon on the banks of Pipers Creek. At Carkeek Park, the majestic landscape is the third teacher – presenting ample opportunities to learn math and science concepts through the natural world. John C. Little brings a big dose of nature to Othello and Rainier Valley. With a vibrant community garden, a beautiful hillside forest and a playground, John C. Little makes an excellent location for science rich learning. In our outdoor classroom, nestled between the garden and the forest, your little one will learn with the seasons. During the spring and summer, they will plant, grow and eat from the community garden. In the fall, children will collect and count the colorful tree leaves and build piles and forts to play in. And in the winter, your little one will stay warm through active games and math and reading rich adventures. Financial assistance (30% off tuition) still available.

Located on the crest of Beacon Hill, with magnificent views of the Seattle skyline, Jefferson park is rich in opportunities for learning and wonder. With a new (and nature inspired) playground, a food forest full of tasty munchables and access to the greenhouses where the Park’s Department staff grow trees and other plants for the city, Jefferson Park is a perfect location for science and math rich exploration. Financial assistance (30% off tuition) still available.
