Press Release – Tiny Trees Leadership Transition

03 Apr Press Release – Tiny Trees Leadership Transition

PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Seattle, WA) – April 3, 2018: The Tiny Trees Preschool Board of Directors has announced Mari Offenbecher as interim CEO effective Monday, April 2, 2018.  Mari has more than 30 years of leadership experience in the non-profit sector, most recently as CEO of School’s Out Washington, which works to ensure high-quality afterschool and summer programs are available to all of Washington’s youth. She is excited to take on this role and help facilitate a smooth transition to Tiny Trees’ next CEO.

Tiny Trees began as a concept that won Social Venture Partners’ 2014 Fast Pitch competition. Over the past three years, the preschool has grown to serve 270 students in 10 outdoor classrooms at Seattle and King County Parks.  CEO Andrew Jay created Tiny Trees out of a desire to improve access to a nature-rich early childhood education.  He has decided to step down as CEO and focus on new endeavors, while continuing to be an advisor to Mari during the transition.  “I am grateful for the opportunity to have served so many children in our community, and confident they’ll reap long-term benefits from their early experiences at Tiny Trees,” Andrew noted.

On behalf of the staff, teachers and entire Tiny Trees community, the Board would like to thank Andrew for his vision, service and contributions to the organization.  We are excited to continue to serve the community under Mari’s leadership. Over the coming months she will work with us and Tiny Trees staff to build on our accomplishments, strengthen our organization, and facilitate a smooth transition to our next leader.  As Tiny Trees grows, more children will benefit from our affordable and joyfully muddy classes, learning the social, emotional and academic skills for a lifetime of success.
